About Samata Shah (Owner/President)
Samata Shah leads her team of design and marketing professionals with purpose and drive. As a trained graphic artist with a degree in Textile Design, she has an eye for creativity. This creative mind coupled with her passion for helping others has helped Samata become a leading woman in business.
Samata came to the United States from India in 1987 with only $40 in her purse and zero ability to speak the English language. However, she was determined to succeed in her new country, and so she taught herself English by listening to the radio and watching the news on television. Samata's family has always been her number one priority but she also had a yearning to stay busy. She and her husband raised two smart, beautiful, successful daughters while running the business but it was clear that family came first. Once her daughters were grown women, Samata was able to turn her focus to her business and her community. Now, after 20 years in business, Samata Shah is known for putting her customers first, paying close attention to every detail, and providing quality service and products. She has fulfilled her dream of having a one stop shop that can manufacture signs, embroider and screen print apparel and a unique technology that can print on multi surface products.
Samata has proudly served as member of the Indian Cultural Association for seven years, including one term as president in which she spearheaded two cultural charity events to raise funds for Autism research and domestic violence. As our communication and ability to connect with people all over the world has improved, Samata believes it is important to teach people other cultures in an effort to help them better understand and serve each other. She has served on the cultural planning committee for The International Center (TIC) for five years and was named “Motivating Woman of the Year” in 2012 by TIC. Kopri Promotion was awarded a Tier 1 Supplier of the Year by WBECSOUTH for 2019. These accreditations and others have been invaluable learning experiences and have greatly contributed to the success of Kopri Promotions. Samata is a member of the National Association of Women in construction , Birmingham Networking Institute, Women's Business Enterprise (WBENC), and the National Minority Council Development Council (NMSDC).
